Chilterns 30km
The Chilterns 30km is a one day trail running event covering 30 km across the Chiltern Hills. The route runs through woodland, hidden routes, grass covered ridge lines and quaint villages, with a total ascent of about 500 m and rolling hills terrain.
The event base is the Iron Room near Tring Station. Tring train station is a three minute walk from the venue and has a taxi rank. Paid parking is available at the station and limited free on street parking may be possible nearby. The organiser states the venue is around 40 minutes north west of London with train links from Euston.
Included in the entry are trail technique instruction from experienced guides, a well stocked checkpoint, bag storage, a refreshment point, toilets, a Trees not Tees certificate and a Run the Wild finisher’s medal. A Run Leader accompanies participants throughout the route. Spaces are limited to 50.
Ability guidance notes that participants should be able to be on their feet for around five hours, ideally have previously run close to a half marathon, and be able to run about 7 km in an hour on the flat. Spectators are welcome and viewing locations will be provided in a briefing email issued one week before the event.
