Chewacla Cha Cha
Chewacla Cha Cha is a trail race held on September 13, 2026 at Chewacla State Park in Auburn, AL. The event is part of the Southern Singletrack Trail Series and benefits Valley Rescue Mission. The course runs on wooded singletrack with rolling terrain and gentle elevation changes.
Race distances include:
- 5K - one scenic loop
- 10K - two loops
Runners start in staggered waves to promote a smooth and safe beginning for each race. Awards are given to the overall male and female winners in each distance. Organizers provide one on-course aid station and one aid station at the finish; stations will offer water, CeraSport, and individually wrapped snacks such as pretzels, chips, fruit chews, and candy. Runners are advised to bring a personal water bottle. Organizers reserve the right to remove participants who show signs of dehydration or distress.
Registration fees vary by date: $55 for the 5K and $65 for the 10K before August 22, 2026, and $70 and $80 respectively after that date. Guaranteed T-shirt size cutoff is August 31, 2026. No transfers, refunds, or deferments are allowed. A $4 day use fee per person is required at park entry and is not included in race registration. Limited race-day registration may be available.
