CBTE Esk Valley Epic

The Esk Valley Epic is a circular trail ultramarathon held on Saturday 1st May 2027 that starts and finishes in the village of Glaisdale. The route follows the Esk Valley Walk and is fully tracked with open tracking.

The course distance is 36 miles with approximately 4487 ft of ascent. Organisers allow 14 hours to complete the route and will deploy tail runners to support finishers. There are five marshaled checkpoints on the course offering water and snacks. First aid cover is available on the day.

Entry is restricted to people aged 20 and over. Dogs are not permitted on the course because of agricultural land. Walkers may take part provided they can complete the route within the 14 hour cut-off.

Standard entry costs £69 or £67 for affiliates; the entry fee includes a finisher medal, a t-shirt, water, and snacks. Trophies are awarded in multiple categories including overall and age-group awards for male, female, non-binary, FV50/60/70 and MV50/60/70. Bookings may be transferred to another runner up to four weeks before the event; refunds are not offered. Participants may opt to have a tree planted instead of taking an event t-shirt.
