About the race
The Esk Valley Epic is a trail ultra event of 36 miles held on Saturday 1 May 2027. The circular route starts and finishes in the village of Glaisdale and follows the Esk Valley Walk. The course includes 4487 ft of ascent and is fully tracked with open tracking; a GPX file is available subject to amendments.
The event features five marshaled checkpoints that provide water and snacks. First aid and event insurance are provided. Dogs are not allowed on the course. The minimum entry age is 20. Walkers may enter provided they can complete the route within the 14 hour cut off; tail runners will support later participants.
Entry fees are listed as £69 standard and £67 affiliate and include a finisher medal, a t-shirt, water, and snacks. Trophies are awarded in multiple categories including first male, first female, first non-binary, and age-group winners for veteran categories. The event operates under race permit ARC/26/0085.
Booking conditions state that entries may be transferred to another runner up to four weeks before the event. Refunds are not offered. Deferrals and transfers may be possible until the closing date of Saturday 11 April and each entry may be deferred once.
