Case Creek Tails on Trails Fall 2K & 5K Run / Walk
The event is a dog-friendly trail run and walk at Case Creek Valley in Coal Valley, Illinois, taking place on Sunday, September 20, 2026. Participants can choose from multiple course options and share the route with their leashed dogs. Some proceeds will be donated to Rock Island County Animal Care & Control Shelter.

The event is a fun run and will not be timed; finish times are not recorded. All finishers receive a dog tag or medal, a custom race bib, and event treats; there are also hydration stations and treats for canine finishers. Race-day packet pickup is available. Children aged 5 to 15 may enter the 2K or 5K but must be accompanied by an adult.
Safety rules apply to all canine participants: dogs must be leashed and led by someone at least 16 years old, retractable leashes are not permitted, leashes must not exceed 6 feet, dogs must be at least six months old, not in heat, non-aggressive, and current on vaccinations. Participants are asked to bring waste bags, maintain distance from other dogs, and avoid petting unfamiliar dogs. The event proceeds regardless of typical weather conditions, with the possibility of cancellation or short postponement in extreme weather.
