Carrera de los Lancers 5K : College of Lake County
Carrera de los Lancers is a 5K run and walk held at the College of Lake County Grayslake Campus on October 4, 2026. Presented by the CLC UndocuAllies Committee, the event raises funds for the Carrera de los Lancers Scholarship to reduce financial barriers and expand educational and entrepreneurial opportunities for students.
The event supports student scholarships, retention and completion initiatives, leadership and career development, and access to the Lancer Business Builders Program and the Lancer Independent Contracting Builders Program. These programs focus on business planning, financial literacy, mentoring, and resources for students interested in entrepreneurship and independent contracting.
Event amenities include early packet pickup at Building F Gym on days prior to the race, water stations along the course, plastic bins for temporary storage (store items at your own risk), a Student Resource and Community Fair, and local food vendors. Event t-shirts are available for registrations received by September 6, with limited shirts available after that date on a first-come, first-served basis.
Parking is available on campus; lots 6, 8, and 9 are closest to the check-in table. The event welcomes participants, volunteers, donors, and sponsors as contributors to scholarship funding and student support programs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
