Carrera de los Lancers 5K
The Carrera de los Lancers is a 5K run/walk held at the College of Lake County campus in Grayslake, Illinois. The course totals 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) and is run as two loops: a first loop of 1 mile and a second loop of 2.1 miles. Terrain alternates between pavement and trail/gravel, with modest elevation changes listed for each loop. The course is not USATF certified, but participants will be timed. Volunteers and directional signs will be positioned along the route.
Registration options include a free student entry for enrolled College of Lake County students and paid entries for non-students with early and regular pricing tiers. All registered participants who complete the race receive a commemorative finisher medal. Awards include top overall woman and man, top overall student runner, age-group awards, a Largest Team Award, and a Lancer Spirit Award.
Pre-race packet pickup is available on the two days before the event at Building F - CLC Gym, and race day packet pickup and same-day registration are offered at the gym before the event. Parking is available in campus lots 6, 7, 8 and 9, with accessible parking in lots 6, 7 and 8. Water stations, restrooms inside Building F, and a bag check are provided.
