Carrera de los Lancers 5K - Grayslake, IL
Carrera de los Lancers is a community 5K run/walk held on October 4, 2026 at the College of Lake County campus, 19351 West Washington Street, Building F - CLC Gym in Grayslake, Illinois. The event is presented by the CLC UndocuAllies Committee and supports student scholarships; twenty-five percent of funds raised will directly support students in the Lancer Independent Contracting Builders Program.
The course totals 5K (3.1 miles) and is run as two loops: a 1.0 mile first loop and a 2.1 mile second loop. Terrain alternates between pavement and trail or gravel; elevation changes are modest. The course is not USATF certified, but participants will be timed. Volunteers and directional signs will be located on the route. Strollers are permitted; participants using strollers are asked to start toward the back of the field. Only service animals are allowed on course.
All registrants who complete the race receive a commemorative finisher medal. Awards include top overall woman and man, top overall student runner, age group awards for men and women, a Largest Team Award, and a Lancer Spirit Award. Packet pickup is available before race day and on-site; same-day registration is offered, space permitting.
