Carkeek 6 and 12 hour at Carkeek Park, Seattle
The Carkeek event offers timed trail running options on a 1.93 mile loop inside Carkeek Park in Seattle, Washington. Each loop records about 436 feet of elevation gain and includes rolling trails, steep stairs, a few flatter sections, and views of the Puget Sound beneath fall tree canopies.
Two race options are offered:
- 12 hour - continuous laps on the 1.93 mile loop with 436' elevation gain
- 6 hour - shorter timed option on the same loop
The event is presented with both an in-person edition and a virtual edition. The in-person race in 2026 takes place on October 24, and the virtual event runs October 1–31. Field size is limited to 50 runners to reduce impact and keep the event small and familiar. The races use handmade bibs and lap counting with star stickers.
This event is organized as a fundraiser for Endless Trails, with proceeds after permit and aid expenses supporting local trail work and the organization’s operating costs. The event emphasizes low-impact practices, including avoiding paper products, and sources most aid and raffle prizes from local Seattle-area businesses.
