Cara Cara MTB & Trail Run
The event takes place at Ruby River Resort in Groblersdal, Limpopo, on the banks of the Olifants River in the Loskop Valley near Loskop Dam. It combines mountain bike races and trail running options on routes through bushveld surroundings and includes a family-friendly venue program.
Distances and entry fees include:
- 60 km MTB R300
- 40 km MTB R280
- 18 km MTB R190
- 10 km MTB R130
- 21 km Trail Run R200
- 10 km Trail Run R110
- 4 km Trail Walk R80
- Dual Challenge 10 km run and 40 km MTB R350
Entry includes a finisher medal, a goodie bag for most distances (4 km excluded), free beer or cooldrink at the finish, live timing by ROR Events, water points on the route, and venue entry with parking. Water points are listed as 10 km - 2, 18 km - 3, 38 km - 4, and 56 km - 7.
The event is CSA sanctioned for the 60 km and 40 km MTB routes; CSA licenses are required for those classes or a day license can be purchased for R50. The trail run is not ASA sanctioned. Personalized race boards are rented and required for timing; they must be returned after the race.
Pre-registration is available at the Pharmacy at Spar Game Centre on the Friday before the event and on-site registration is offered at the venue with electronic and cash payments; a R30 surcharge applies to late or on-the-day entries.
