Capital XC - University/Open Division
The Ottawa Lions host the 12th annual Capital XC Challenge on September 26, 2026 in Ottawa, Ontario. The event takes place at Mooneys Bay Park, a venue that hosted the 2022 and 2023 Canadian Cross Country Championships and the 2024 OFSAA XC Championships. Organizers note the courses will be slightly different from previous years while remaining race-focused.
Races are offered for both men and women across divisions, with athletes competing in their respective age classes. Entry requirements differ by division: Open/University athletes must be registered with their provincial sport organization or with a member institution of U Sports or the CCAA. U14, U12, and U10 athletes may be entered by a school coach or a parent.

Registration information lists a regular deadline of September 23, 2026 and a late deadline of September 25, 2026. Fees are charged per entry; listed amounts include a regular rate and a late rate, and an entry cap of CAD 250.00 per team per gender. Payment methods accepted include online payment and cheque; a small processing fee applies. A technical package is provided by the organizers.
