About the race
The Cape Fear Christmas Wine Run 5K is a chip-timed 5k run and walk held at Cape Fear Vineyard & Winery in Elizabethtown, North Carolina on November 28, 2026. The course starts and finishes at the winery and follows a two-lap route through Greene's Lake Conservation Park.
Registration includes a super soft ring spun cotton T-shirt, a shatterproof collapsible wine glass, a finisher medal, a race bib with chip timing, posted results, and a pour of wine for eligible participants. Packet pick-up is available on race day only.
Age group awards are presented to the top three finishers in each ten-year category. The age groups are 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, and 80 and over. Competitive runners must start with the first group to be eligible for age group awards. There is no age group ceremony; results are posted online at J3Timing.com and age group awards must be collected at the registration table on the day of the event. Medals will not be shipped after the event.
The event names the Cape Fear Distillery Conservation Foundation as its local charity partner. Minors may participate with a discounted registration that includes a shirt, medal, and bib but not a wine glass or wine. Strollers are permitted though not recommended due to uneven ground.
