2027 Canadian Orienteering Festival - Whitehorse, Yukon
The 2027 Canadian Orienteering Festival is hosted by the Yukon Orienteering Association in Whitehorse, Yukon. The festival is scheduled from Monday June 28 to Monday July 5, 2027, with package pick-up and model events beginning on June 27. The competition program comprises seven races held on seven different maps, and the week also includes camps, a learning summit, a banquet with a silent auction, and fundraising events.
Two of the races are planned as World Ranking Events (WRE) pending International Orienteering Federation approval. The organisers report two new competition areas and five revised or expanded maps among the event sites. Specific competition locations named in the program include Lewes Lake South and North, Lewes Creek, Chadburn Lake, Carcross Desert and Dunes, Paddy's Pond, Biathlon Yukon, Whistle Bend and Grey Mountain Road.
Festival overall results use a points system based on time behind the leader. Points are accumulated from the sprint, COC middle, COC long, WCOC middle and WCOC long; each competitor's best four results in the same class are used to calculate total points. All participants are eligible for festival prizes, with awards for overall first, second and third in each class. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
