Campobello Coastal Challenge : Campobello Island, NB
The Campobello Coastal Challenge takes place on August 22, 2026 and is presented for a second edition. The event is a collaboration between Roosevelt Campobello International Park, Herring Cove Provincial Park and Dutch Viking Events. A portion of registrations will be donated to the Campobello Island food bank.
Runners follow coastal and forest trails that include forest paths, rocky beaches, coastal cliffs, bog boardwalks and stands of old growth Acadian Forest. Wildlife such as bald eagles, seals, porpoises and whales may be visible from the route.
Distances offered:
- 10 km loop
- 25 km loop
- 50 km double loop
The 25 km and 50 km start at the historic core of Roosevelt Campobello International Park, cross rocky coastal outcrops and tidal bogs, include a 2.7 km beach stretch in Herring Cove Provincial Park, then return to forested trails and the start area. The 10 km begins at the same start and follows part of the 25 km route before rejoining the final leg through Herring Cove.
Practical details: aid stations supply water, Skratch and nutrition at set points; washrooms are available along the course; First Aid is located at the start/finish area. Race kit pick up is available the evening before at Herring Cove campground and on race morning at Roosevelt Campobello International Park. The event does not provide disposable cups; participants must bring their own cup, bottle or hydration system. Dogs and strollers are not permitted. There are no refunds or deferrals.
