About the race
The Bryce Canyon Ultras take place September 18 to 19, 2027 at Lucky 7 Ranch in Hatch, Utah. Multiple trail distances are offered, all starting and finishing at the ranch.
Distances include:
- 100 Mile
- 50 Mile
- 60K
- 50K
- 30K
- Half Marathon
Courses traverse the northern half and western edge of the Paunsaugunt Plateau and pass through hoodoos, forests, canyons, and open high country. Most miles range from 7,000 to 9,000 feet elevation. Surfaces vary between smooth doubletrack and rugged singletrack with rolling climbs and steep descents on selected sections.
Aid stations are fully stocked with water, electrolyte drink mix, fresh fruit, soda, sweet and salty snacks, and portable bathrooms. Stations on longer segments also provide salt caps, electrolyte caps, sunscreen, first aid supplies, and medical support. Drop bags are permitted for longer distances and must be left at the designated drop off before race morning. Cutoff times and overall time limits apply per distance, and cutoffs are enforced by gun time.
Crew and pacer access is allowed for the 50 mile and 100 mile races only; crew and pacer rules and registration apply. Lucky 7 Ranch offers tent, car, and RV dry camping, a pavilion, drinking water, and porta-potties. The event is cupless so runners must carry their own container for cold drinks. Required gear includes a headlamp, hydration system, an offline course map device, and visible bib placement. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
