GPS Big Gunpowder Trail Race
The GPS Big Gunpowder Trail is a trail running event held on October 18 at Gunpowder State Park, Belair Road, Kingsville, MD 21087. The course distance is 5.25 miles and it is the shortest race in the BRRC trail series.
The route includes a steep climb near the start, several downhill sections, single-track trail segments, and a fast finish. These course features occur within the park trail system and are part of the race layout.
Registration is race day only and the event is powered by donations. There is no registration fee; participants are asked to offer a donation at bib pickup if they wish.
Directions note that access is via 695 to exit 32B, Belair Road North. The primary parking area is on the east side of Belair Road. If that parking is full, additional free parking is available across Belair Road at the Park and Ride next to the Gunpowder Lodge, with an underpass foot path to the race area. Parking at the Gunpowder Lodge lot is prohibited and vehicles may be towed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
