The 12 km begins at the base of Red Mountain Resort, climbs to the summit of Red Mountain, and records about 623 m ascent and descent.
Race operations include chip timing with ankle chips, mandatory gear checks, designated aid stations that act as checkpoints, and rules on drop bags, crew access, and cutoffs. Mandatory gear for 50 km and 25 km includes a lightweight jacket and an emergency blanket, minimum 1.5 L hydration and 400 calories of food; 12 km requires at least 1 L hydration and 200 calories. The event uses cup-free aid stations, composting and recycling practices, and requests runners follow the published waivers and safety requirements. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
