Brent Knoll Race

The Brent Knoll Race is an off road hill race around Brent Knoll in Somerset held on Sunday 22 November 2026. The event is based at the Burnham Association of Sports Clubs (BASC) at Stoddens Road, Burnham-on-Sea TA8 2DX.

The course is approximately 6 miles with about 569 ft of elevation. The route leaves the sportsground along footpaths, bridleways and quiet country roads, includes a steep ascent to the summit, a half circuit around the top, and steep descents back to the sportsground. Trail shoes are recommended because of mud and uneven ground; there are no water stations on the course and drinks are provided at the finish.

Facilities at the sportsground include toilets and changing rooms, a limited bag drop (items left at the owner’s risk), and drinks and snacks available from the venue. Parking is available at the BASC sportsground; the entrance has a height barrier that may restrict vans or high sided vehicles. Car park marshals will direct vehicles.

Race rules note that only bone conduction headphones are permitted; in ear and over ear headphones are not allowed. Dogs are not permitted on site. Entry is £20 with a £2 discount for competitors with a current England Athletics registration number; entries close on 18 November. Prizes include awards for the top three male and female finishers, age category winners, and a unique medal for every finisher. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
