About the race
Bowen Mudder 2026 is a muddy obstacle fun run held at Island Pacific School on Nexwlélexwm (Bowen Island), on the ancestral and unceded territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation). The event offers short trail courses that pass through a forested setting and include classic "mudder" style obstacles designed to immerse participants in the coastal temperate rainforest. Registration and bib pickup take place in front of the school. A shuttle bus will run between Snug Cove ferry terminal and the school.
Post-race provisions include hot chocolate and snacks provided by the Bowen General Store and food for purchase from Medicine Wheels mobile BBQ with an Indigenous flair. A group warm up will precede the runs and change tents will be available after the course. The format releases 5 km participants first, followed by waves of teams and solo runners for the 2 km fun run. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in the 5 km for under 18 and over 18 categories, with additional awards for best costume and team spirit.
Proceeds support the Island Pacific School bursary fund to help maintain accessibility for students. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
