About the race
Boréal X-Country celebrates its 25th edition on the trails around Centre de socioculturel de l'Île Bizard, 490 montée de l'Église, L'Île Bizard, Montréal. The event uses fine-gravel trails through a boreal wood and offers multiple distances for adults and children.
Distances:
- 1 km (children 4 to 11 years)
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Combo 5 km + 10 km
Courses are marked and run on forested paths. The 5 km start is on Montée de l'Église near the park entrance, about a 10-minute walk from the socio-cultural centre. The event uses a mass start and official timing is based on the start signal.
The 1 km for children is an out-and-back on rue de l'Église, starts a few minutes after the 10 km at the same start point, and parents are invited to supervise their children if needed. All participating children receive a participation medal.
Awards include medals for the top three men and women, medals for the top three in each age group, and various prizes provided by sponsors. The event is presented as eco-responsible and community oriented. Homemade food prepared by volunteers is available at the socio-cultural centre after the races. All participants receive a themed gift. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
