Bilstein Marathon
The Bilstein Marathon is a multi-distance trail running event held in the Kaufunger Wald region around the Bilstein in central Germany. The event includes several mapped and signposted routes through forested and hilly terrain and highlights pronounced elevation changes and scenic viewpoints.

The event is scheduled for 10 April 2027 and is the 15th edition. Registration opens on 3 October 2026. To preserve a familiar event atmosphere, the total number of start places across all disciplines is limited to 650. The organiser’s team marks all routes to reduce the risk of misdirection. Reports and photo coverage from previous editions note aid station locations and activity around the second aid station and the start and finish area. The setting emphasizes landscape running with notable height meters rather than flat terrain, and course profiles show sustained climbs that affect pacing and effort.
