Heroes and Villains Half Marathon
Heroes and Villains Half Marathon at River Front Park on September 5, 2027, is presented by Bigfoot Running Company. The event offers multiple in-person distances and a virtual option, plus a costume contest and postrace awards.
Distances offered include:
- Kids Dash - 50 meter untimed dash for ages 10 and under.
- 1 Mile - untimed fun run for all ages.
- 5K (3.11 miles) - chip timed.
- Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles) - chip timed.
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles) - chip timed.
- Volunteer then Run 5K - volunteer role plus chip timed 5K entry and finisher items.
- Virtual Run - 13.1 miles completed remotely.
All finishers receive a medal and shirt. Packet pickup opens 1.5 hours before the race start. The course runs on local park and greenbelt trails with mixed surfaces including pavement, crushed granite, and dirt; aid stations are available along the course. Awards include Bigfoot trophies for overall winners and pins for age group placings in chip timed races. A costume contest is held just before the races with gift card, free future race entry, and prize pack awards. Group discounts, a referral refund offer, and youth pricing for certain ages are listed.
