About the race
Shark Week Showdown is an ocean-themed running event hosted by Bigfoot Running Company in Corpus Christi on July 18, 2027. The event offers on-site and virtual options and features themed race tees, finisher medals for several distances, music at the start and finish areas, and aid stations along the course. The 5K and 10K are chip-timed and include age-group awards, overall trophies, and masters recognition.
Packet pickup is available before race day. Course surfaces include pavement, crushed granite, and some dirt paths, and the event takes place in parks and greenbelts where other users such as dog walkers and cyclists may be present.
Volunteer programs are available in multiple roles, with different position ratings for activity and physical demand. Full race volunteers receive a race shirt, VIP race access, and a choice of either a free future race entry or a $20 prepaid digital gift card. A limited "Volunteer Then Run" option is offered for the 5K; it includes a chip-timed bib, race tee, finisher medal, and the ability to run the 5K after helping. Youth pricing and group or referral discounts are part of the event pricing structure. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
