Spring Fling - Shreveport
Spring Fling is a race series presented by Bigfoot Running Company on 04/25/2027 at Halton City High School in Shreveport, LA. The event includes in-person and virtual options and uses public parks, greenbelts, and roads for parts of the courses.
Distances and formats include:
- Kids Dash (ages 10 and under)
- 1 Mile
- 5K Run (3.11 Miles) : chip timed
- 10K Run (6.22 Miles)
- Volunteer then Run 5K (3.11 Miles) : chip timed bib included
- Virtual Run (12.4 Miles)
The Kids Dash and the 1 Mile are described as untimed and include a race tee and finisher medal. The 5K and the Volunteer then Run 5K use chip timing and offer awards. Awards include 1st overall male and female Bigfoot trophies, a 1st Masters (40+) recognition pin, and standard age group awards for the 5K and 10K. Age groups begin at 10 and under and continue in standard ranges up to 70 plus.
Event services noted by the organizer include aid stations, refreshments at a race tent, a live DJ and finish line name announcements, finisher medals and race shirts, and live awards. Volunteer roles cover water stations, course monitors, finish line helpers, packet pickup, sweepers, floaters, lead bike, and mascot duties. Course surfaces may be mixed: pavement, crushed granite, and dirt paths. Shirt guarantee is 10 days before race day. Races proceed in varied weather conditions.
