Bigfoot Classic - Houston
The Bigfoot Classic in Sugarland, Texas takes place at Brazos River Park on 01/23/2027. The event includes in-person and virtual race options, postrace snacks and refreshments at a rally tent, a DJ, course aid stations, and a costume contest judged by the crowd.
Distances offered:
- Kids Dash: about 50 meters for ages 10 and under.
- 1 Mile: one mile, not chip timed.
- 5K: 3.11 miles, chip timed.
- 10K: 6.22 miles, chip timed.
- 15K: 9.33 miles, chip timed.
- Half Marathon: 13.1 miles.
- Virtual Run: 9.33 miles virtual option.
Timing and awards are handled by chip timing for several distances. The 5K, 10K, and 15K include 1st overall trophies for male and female finishers, masters recognition pins for 1st place male and female age 40 and over, and age group award pins for youth and five year age brackets up to 70 plus. All finishers of all distances receive a medal and a shirt.
The Legendary Beast Costume Contest awards a single crowd favorite winner with a trophy, a Bigfoot prize pack, and a free entry to a future Bigfoot Classic event. Volunteer roles are available with various duties and benefits; one volunteer option allows a participant to volunteer then run the 5K and includes a timed bib, tee, and finisher medal. Packet pickup is offered 1.5 hours before the event start time. The course may include paved trails, crushed granite, and dirt paths, and the event proceeds in any weather.
