Beat the Manure 5K at the Guilford Fair
The Beat the Manure 5K is a run/walk held at the Guilford Fairground in Guilford, Vermont. The course is a hilly loop that uses a varied mix of paved roads, dirt roads, and trails.
The route includes 226' of elevation gain. The first half is mostly uphill; the second half is gradually downhill with the exception of a very slight rise about 75 yards from the finish. This layout produces a quicker final segment for finishing.
Prizes are awarded to the top overall female and male finishers and to the first place female and male in each age group: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. The last finisher receives a bag of local composted horse manure.
Registration opens on 2026-06-29 at 22:00 and closes on 2026-09-05 at 23:59. The base registration fee is $20. Race day registration is available in person until 7:30 AM and carries a $5 additional fee. The first 60 registered participants receive a soft cotton event t-shirt.
