About the race
Beast of the East is a point-to-point trail event in Jersey on 25 October 2026 offering two distances that both finish at Devil’s Hole. The routes use woodland trails and Jersey’s north-coast cliff paths with largely off-road terrain and substantial elevation.
Distances
- Half Marathon: 13.1 miles, roughly 2,700 ft of climbing, starts in St Catherine’s Woods, limited to 60 runners.
- 10k: 10 km, roughly 1,600 ft of climbing, starts at Bouley Bay, limited to 50 runners.
Around 95% of both routes is off-road and the courses include narrow coastal paths, steps, rocky sections and technical trail. Aid points provide water, Coke and simple treats; the event is cup-free so runners must carry their own drink vessel. Every entry includes an event T-shirt and a finisher medal. The organisers provide clear course markings with GPX available as backup and publish race photographs and results after the event.
Mandatory kit is required for safety and may be checked; core items include trail shoes with grip, minimum 1000 ml water capacity, foil blanket, warm layer, charged phone, whistle and food.
