Bear Trail & Grizzly 100
The Bear Trail & Grizzly 100 are a series of trail running routes that start and finish on the terrain of football club S.K. Moelingen at Berneauweg 49 in 's-Gravenvoeren (Belgium). The event offers multiple marked offroad routes with notable elevation gain and a mix of narrow paths and natural surfaces.
Distances:
- 100 km | 2827 m D+
- 85 km | 2309 m D+
- 60 km | 1570 m D+
- 40 km | 974 m D+
- 31 km | 682 m D+
- 23 km | 493 m D+
- 17 km | 334 m D+
Routes are fully waymarked with large orange boards and black arrows. Organizers publish GPX tracks in advance and recommend running with a GPX device because alterations or sabotage can occur. Aid stations provide water, sports drink, fruit, cola, biscuits and other snacks; the event is cup free so participants must bring a collapsible cup or buy one at the race office.
The 85 km and Grizzly 100 have mandatory kit requirements that include a phone, headlamp, rescue foil, at least 0.5 liter of water and ID. Dropbags are available for the 83 km and 100 km with rules for delivery and collection. Time limits apply with a minimum speed of 12 min per km; exceeding limits may mean aid stations are removed and markings may no longer be present.
Facilities at the venue include showers, changing rooms and a guarded bag storage. Registration is handled via the Passion For Sports platform. Results are timed with chips and published online and later uploaded to the UTMB index for eligible distances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
