BC Backyard Ultra
BC Backyard Ultra takes place at Sicamous Public Beach Park in Sicamous, British Columbia. The event is organized by Lewiston Ultra Events and supports the Canadian Championship Series and Big Dog's Backyard Ultra World Championship as a SILVER TICKET event.
The race uses the Last Runner Standing format. Every hour on the hour, runners must complete a loop of 6706 meters (about 4.167 miles / 6.7056 km). Three minutes before the top of the hour, three whistles sound; two minutes before, two whistles; and one minute before, one whistle. When the bell rings at the start of the hour, runners must be ready and in the starting chute. When one runner remains they complete one final victory loop. There is a single winner; all other participants are recorded as DNF.
The course consists of a mix of non-technical trail and pavement with less than 20 m of elevation gain or loss. The event features a central staging area intended for community support and spectator presence.
Registration details: entry is 185 CAD plus GST and UltraSignup fees. Participants must be at least 19 years old on race day. American Express and Discovery cards are not accepted. Lewiston Ultra Events does not offer refunds and there is no waitlist. Registrations are transferable until 8:00 AM on April 9, 2027 for a 20 CAD administration fee; transfers are not permitted after that time.
