Snow Gum Run : Mount Baw Baw
The Snow Gum Run is a series of trail races held at Mount Baw Baw, Victoria on Sunday 28 February 2027. The event village is at Village Central Restaurant, 32 Currawong Road, Mount Baw Baw. The courses run through alpine terrain, with routes reaching altitudes above 1,500 metres.
Distances include:
- Marathon: 43 km, 1750 m ascent/descent, cut-off 8 hours, age limit 18+
- 35 km: 1400 m ascent/descent, cut-off 8 hours, age limit 18+
- 21 km: 770 m ascent/descent, cut-off 4 hours, age limit 16+
- 15 km: 544 m ascent/descent, cut-off 4 hours, age limit 16+
- 7 km: cut-off 2 hours, age limit 8+
- 4 km: age limit 5 years on event day
- 1 km kids trail: no minimum age, max age 12, parents may accompany
Most courses start at Baw Baw Village and follow the Village and Summit Trails to Five Ways, then continue along McMillan Trail and past Baragwanath Flat into the national park. Several distances use sections of the Australian Alpine Walking Track, The Camp, Mt Erica and Mt St Gwinear or their car parks, and many return to the village via Village Trail and Muellers Track. The marathon includes multiple intermediate cut offs, including specified times at Mt Erica car park, Camp Saddle and Mt St Gwinear Road.
