Barn Creek Backyard Ultra : Jamestown TN
Barn Creek Backyard Ultra is a Last Man Standing backyard ultra held in Jamestown, Tennessee. The course is a 4.167 mile out-and-back that runs on private property from r3 motoworx, crosses Barn Creek via a bridge, and runs adjacent to Colditz Cove State Natural Area. Terrain includes gravel, road, and trail with under 300 feet of elevation gain per loop.
The event follows backyard ultra rules: each loop must be completed within an hour to be counted; competitors may not leave the course during a loop except for restrooms; no personal aid is allowed while on a loop; no non-competitors may be on the course; artificial aids including trekking poles are not permitted. The winner is the last person to complete a loop; all other runners are recorded by distance covered. If no runner completes one more loop than anyone else, there is no winner.
The main aid station is located next to the start corral and will provide warm food, water, drinks, and portable restrooms. Runners may set up a tent along the start corral; crew vehicles are not allowed in the crew tent area after setup. Camping options are available on site with 12 full RV hookups, 10 water only campsites, and free tent camping. The event is cup-less and provides a reusable speed cup at packet pickup. A belt buckle is awarded to runners who complete 100 miles. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
