About the race
Barkin' Mad Ultra 2026 is a trail running and walking event at Rokeby Recreation Reserve in Rokeby, Victoria on 3–4 October 2026. The event is organised by Aus Hair of the Dog Rescue Inc. to raise funds and awareness for the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of dogs and to support the Baw Baw Shire dog shelter.

- 2 km
- 5 km
- 10 km
- 20 km
- 50 km
The event welcomes runners and walkers with or without dogs and has a capacity of 400 participants and dogs. There are separate categories for adaptive athletes, with provisions for guides, accessible facilities, and specific eligibility criteria for permanent impairments. Breed and age limits apply for longer distances; for example, dogs must be older than one year to enter the 20 km and 50 km races, and brachycephalic breeds are not permitted in those distances.
Mandatory gear lists are specified for humans and dogs and vary by distance. Aid stations provide water, electrolytes, snacks, dog treats, and dog crates. Course markings, sweepers, and GPX maps are provided. Entry fees range from A$35 to A$275 depending on distance and category. Results are posted on the event website.
