Azores Triangle Adventure
The Azores Triangle Adventure is a multi-stage trail running event organized by Azores Trail Run Events. The competition takes place over three consecutive days across three different islands in the Azores archipelago. Participants cover a total distance of approximately 90 km as they move between the islands of Pico, São Jorge, and Faial.
The race is structured into three distinct stages:
- Stage 1: Located on Pico Island, the route leads from the local vineyards toward the mountain.
- Stage 2: Known as the Fajãs Trail, this stage takes place on São Jorge Island.
- Stage 3: The final stage, the Volcanoes Trail, is held on Faial Island.
The event is based in Horta, Portugal, with the Teatro Faialense serving as a central location. This race provides an opportunity for trail runners to experience the diverse natural landscapes of the central group of the Azores islands.
