Austerlitz Trail
The Austerlitz Trail starts and finishes at the KNVB Campus in the Staatsbossen near Zeist. The event uses a basecamp on the campus where the start area, the finish and the main aid station are located. Participants leave the campus through specially opened gates and run into the surrounding nature.
Routes consist of three loops that are each about 10 km long. Runners can choose to complete one, two or three loops, resulting in approximate totals of:
- ~10 km per single loop
- ~20 km for two loops
- ~30 km for three loops
The trails run through mixed forests toward the border with the Bornia nature area. The terrain includes old lanes, open spaces and some height changes with steeper climbs. All loops are fully marked with arrows and tape. Bevoorrading (refreshments) is available at the start/finish after each loop. There are no disposable cups provided, so participants should bring a personal racecup if needed. The order of the loops is determined on the day of the event.
The event is organised by Trail Events and lists KNVB Campus, Staatsbosbeheer and Gemeente Zeist among its partners. The scheduled dates are 8 May 2027 to 9 May 2027 but the date is provisional because it depends on KNVB Campus availability.
