ATW Watford Half Marathon and 10K
The event takes place on 7 February 2027 in Cassiobury Park Avenue, Watford. Distances offered include:
- 1.8 km Fun Run (stays within Cassiobury Park)
- 10K (multi-terrain route with canal towpath and woodland sections)
- Half Marathon (road and country lane route, fully closed roads)
The 10K starts alongside the half marathon, leaves the park onto traffic-free roads, then diverts around the 4 km mark to the Grand Union Canal towpath for about 3 km before joining woodland trails and finishing past event HQ. The 10K has no cut-off time; entries are limited and the 10K sold out in 2026.
The half marathon follows fully closed roads into country lanes behind local hotels and a golf course, passing Bucks Hill, Commonwood Common and Chandlers Cross before returning to Cassiobury Park. There is a cut-off of 2 hours 45 minutes at the 11 mile point. The race includes the Hertfordshire Vets half marathon championships; eligibility requires being born in Hertfordshire or resident for nine months and must be stated during registration.
Additional event features include a lead car and cycle escort, pacers for both races, a Racecheck Gold Award, on-course musical entertainment, finish line goodies and a unique medal, free professional photos, a professional commentator and an event village. One random half marathon competitor will win a £2000 spot prize. The organiser lists Alzheimer's Research UK as a partner charity. Entry fees range from £14 to £45. The organiser allows transfers to future events up to 48 hours before the event; refunds and transfers to another person are not offered.
