Arrowhead Ultra 135
The Arrowhead Ultra 135 is an annual winter endurance event covering 135 miles across northern Minnesota. The event accepts runners, bikers, and skiers on a deep winter route and is organized as a timed long-distance race with published courses, results, and photo galleries from each edition.
For the 2027 edition the race is listed as the 23rd annual and scheduled for January 25 to 27, 2027. Registration opens September 1, 2026 at 8 am Central time. The organizer requires a qualifying performance before entry: at least 100 miles on foot, 100 miles off road or 200 miles on road for bikers, or 100 miles for skiers; other training may be considered in lieu of a qualifying race.
Safety and tracking rules are enforced. Racers are required to carry an active satellite tracker and rental trackers are available; trackers must be set up well before gear check and past editions have applied time penalties for lost or dead trackers. An updated route GPX file is provided by the organizer.
A new rule for 2027 states that racers must present a clear MelGeorges drop bag containing only food and drink; these bags will be stored in an unheated porch and will be inspected during gear check.
The event lists multiple community charities and local sponsors and maintains archives of race statistics, results, and participant reports from prior years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
