Amerongse Berg Trail
The Amerongse Berg Trail is a trail running event around the Amerongen area on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, with the start location at Boshotel Overberg. Routes run through forests, single tracks and heathland and pass notable landscape features such as the Eenzame Eik.
Routes are fully marked with arrows and tapes. Aid stations are provided on each route and at the finish:
- 12 km, 100D+ elevation
- 17 km, 155D+ elevation
- 21 km, 260D+ elevation
Practical details shared with participants include an information e-mail about a week before the event and a GPX file sent the Thursday before at 19:00. After the first kilometer the elevation begins. There are no disposable cups at the aid stations, so participants should bring their own racecup if they want one. A separate event medal is available as an optional purchase and may also be for sale at the event if stock allows.
The event is organised by Trail Events, supported by partners including Boshotel Overberg, Staatsbosbeheer and the Gemeente Utrechtse Heuvelrug. The event is not free and the maximum attendee capacity is listed as 1149. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
