6633 Arctic Ultra Classic Edition 2028
The 6633 Arctic Ultra is an expedition race across the Canadian Arctic from the Yukon toward the Arctic coast. The Classic Edition for 2028 takes place on 24 February 2028 and is offered in two formats: 120+ miles and approximately 380 miles.
Competitors follow the Dempster Highway and frozen ice roads, crossing from Whitehorse through Yukon into the Northwest Territories. The route passes Eagle Plains, Sheeps Creek (CP1 at 40 miles), James Creek (CP2 at 71 miles), Fort McPherson (CP3 at 113 miles), the Peel River mid-point, Aklavik (CP5 at 211 miles), Inuvik (CP6 at 286 miles) and finishes at Tuktoyaktuk on the Arctic Ocean. The course is not fixed; weather, ice and terrain can alter the route from year to year.
The event is self sufficient in that competitors carry their own gear, camp in the wilderness and decide when to move, rest and eat. Checkpoints provide hot water, shelter and basic support. The expedition package includes accommodation and plane travel back to Whitehorse after the race, specifically 3 nights in Whitehorse, 1 night in Dawson City, 1 night in Eagle Plains and 1 night in Inuvik.
The 380 mile entry is listed at £4,950.00. Payment options include full payment or instalment plans (three monthly payments or six monthly payments if time allows); the first instalment is taken at booking and the full amount must be paid by 31 October 2027.
