About the race
The 6 Inch Trail Marathon is a trail running event scheduled for Sunday 20 December 2026 on the Munda Biddi Trail in Western Australia. The point-to-point course runs from North Dandalup to Dwellingup in the South West region, roughly 80 km south of Perth. The event includes a full marathon distance of about 46 km and a half marathon of about 23 km; the marathon route features approximately 925 m of climb and 775 m of descent while the half features roughly 340 m climb and 360 m descent. Race logistics and rules include compulsory gear checks and mandatory equipment: participants must carry at least 1 litre of water, a mobile phone, and a specified first aid kit containing a long snake/compression bandage, strapping tape and band aid strips.
One drop bag is permitted at the halfway aid station and will be moved to the finish after all participants have passed that aid station. Two staffed aid stations provide water, sports drinks, fruit and lollies at about 23 km and 36 km. The course is marked with fluorescent pink tape and red and white arrows; participants must follow course markers and race officials’ directions. Non-participants may not accompany runners on the course and support crews may attend only at Aid Station Two (36 km).
Bus transport options are organised between start and finish areas; some bus transfers are included with entry while other private transfers are available for a fee. Prize giving and post-race refreshments are located at the Dwellingup finish area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
