Step Up for America's Heroes Stair Challenge
Step Up for America's Heroes is a stair climbing event held on 10/24/2026 at Community Memorial Stadium at Mt. Pleasant High School, 1155 S Elizabeth St, Mount Pleasant, MI 48858. The event centers on climbing 2,200 steps, a number chosen to reflect the stair count to the top of the World Trade Center and to honor and remember first responders, military personnel, and civilians affected by the September 11th terrorist attacks and subsequent military service.
Participants may climb all 2,200 steps or climb as many steps as they are comfortable with. For those who prefer not to climb stairs, the track around the football field will be available for walking or running. The event is free to attend; donations are requested for the Disabled American Veterans organization, with a stated fundraising goal of $1,100.
Light refreshments, including doughnuts and beverages, will be available for participants. Registration opens on 10/9/2026 and closes on 10/24/2026.
