Trail Running calendar near Fallon 2026-2027

A dog friendly 5K and 1 mile event at North Tahoe Regional Park with an expo, non competitive activities, and a fundraiser supporting local animal rescue and veterinary care.

June 2026

A 200.2 mile ultramarathon around Lake Tahoe using the Tahoe Rim Trail and National Forest lands, featuring many single-track sections, multiple aid and sleep stations, and a 105 hour cutoff. The course is currently an out and back route.

A 100-kilometer ultramarathon near Lake Tahoe with 11,500 feet of climbing and over 23,000 feet of elevation change on mostly singletrack. The course reaches about 9,800 feet and passes Star Lake.

On June 20, 2026 at Sparks Marina runners complete a *4.167 mile* yard each hour until one person remains; mini Backyard races of 3, 6, 12, and 24 hours use the same rules and award finishers.

The Big Chief 50K will take place in Tahoe City on Sunday 28 June 2026. You can run 50 kilometers.

July 2026

The Run to the Beach - Tahoe Vista will take place in Tahoe Vista on Saturday 4 July 2026. You can run between 5 and 10 kilometers.

A multi-distance trail endurance event on the Tahoe Rim Trail held July 18-19, 2026, offering 23K, 50K, 100K and 100 Mile options. The races are ITRA qualifiers with published time cutoffs and support local trail and community programs.

August 2026

Desolate Peaks is a self-navigated peak bagging event in Desolation Wilderness near South Lake Tahoe. Runners choose 11, 17 or 21 peak circuits on unmarked off trail terrain requiring route finding, scrambling and creek crossings.

September 2026

A community run in Tahoe Vista with a 5K and a 1 mile fun run across grass fields, paved bike paths and park trails. Parking and a participant hat are included, and proceeds support a park nonprofit.

A USATF sanctioned trail 5k at Hidden Valley Regional Park in Reno on September 5, 2026. Proceeds benefit Azteca FC and all participants receive a shirt, finisher medal, and sticker.

A point-to-point trail race around Emerald Bay in Lake Tahoe, covering about 7 miles / 11 km on mostly single-track terrain with moderate climbs, technical granite steps, scenic lake views, shuttle service, and standard race amenities.

A memorial community climb on September 12, 2026 to Mt. Grant Mountain near Hawthorne, NV, featuring a roughly 17 mile route with about 7000 feet of ascent and a planned 9/11 tribute that supports the Veterans Memorial Park.

Trail runs at Long Ranch Park in Carson City on September 19, 2026, with 6K, 12K and 22K options. Aid stations offer water and snacks but runners must bring a bottle; there are no division awards.

Explore the scenic trails of Carson Valley with 10k, 5k, and free 2k family options. Experience the newest single track loops at the base of the mountains while supporting local trail maintenance at James Lee Memorial Park.

The Great Trail Race is a point to point event between Truckee and Tahoe City, California, on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Participants may choose gravel bike, mountain bike, or trail run and select either an Elite or Classic course.

A student-run trail event on September 27, 2026 at George Whittell High School in Zephyr Cove, Nevada. It features a 5K trail and an 800 meter kids' fun run, with natural trail features, student-designed shirts sold separately, and no pets..

Three days of trail running around Zephyr Point on the Tahoe Rim Trail, Flume Trail and Pacific Crest Trail. Each day offers long and short route options and the event includes lodging and catered meals.

October 2026

Trail races on the shores of Fallen Leaf Lake and over Tahoe Mountain in South Lake Tahoe on October 4, 2026. Distances range from a toddler half mile Tadpole Trot to a half marathon, and event proceeds support local charities.

Fixed time and fixed distance races take place on a paved, lighted loop at Sparks Marina in Sparks, Nevada. Options include 3 hour, 6 hour, 12 hour, 24 hour and 48 hour events, 50 mile and 100 mile races, plus a 6 hour relay.

A 9.4 miles out and back hill climb in Reno with 3,018 ft of elevation gain, starting near Melton Elementary School and summiting Peavine Peak via singletrack, rocky ATV trail and a dirt road descent.
