Trail Running calendar near Smith Center 2026-2027

Tipton Picnic Trail on August 1 offers a live 5K run and a 2 mile walk at Tipton High School with prize money for top finishers; register by July 19 to receive a free t shirt, late entries are accepted without shirts.

Trail half marathon and 50k on the single-track Switchgrass Mountain Bike Trail at Wilson State Park. Exposed, hilly course beside Wilson Lake with two aid stations, marked routing, awards, and finisher items for each distance.

Multi-distance ultraruns on rugged single-track at Wilson State Park with substantial elevation gain and looped 20 mile laps. The Pure Hell 140 requires a prior 100 mile finish and has a 52 hour cutoff.

A last man standing backyard ultra held on single-track trails at Wilson State Park. Runners repeat 4.167 mile laps with one hour to complete each lap; crews are limited and aid is at the start finish only.

A farmstead, chip-timed multi-duration event near Norton, KS offering 6, 12, 24, 48 and 72 hour options on a 3 mile loop with an optional dirt-road extension, continuous aid station service, camping, and live lap tracking.
