Trail Running calendar near Stornoway 2026-2027

A five hour loop challenge in Inverlael Forest near Ullapool where runners and walkers complete repeated 3.6 km laps as individuals or in teams. The event raises funds for Highland Hospice and awards medals to all participants.

A 20 km, 1000 m AL category hill race around the Slioch Horseshoe near Kinlochewe. The unmarked, pathless route uses ordered checkpoints; entries use pre-selection and require age 18+ plus prior AM hill-race experience.

A memorial hill race on Skye covering 4.5 miles with 2,500 ft of ascent from Sligachan Hotel on 11 July 2026. Entries are full and new runners are placed on a waiting list; proceeds go to Skye Mountain Rescue Team.

A community 10 km run or walk on the Isle of Berneray during Berneray Week in July. The course mixes road and machair terrain, with registration at the Community Hall and post-race refreshments.

A friendly half marathon across Berneray and North Uist with sea views for most of the route. The rural, gently undulating course runs on surfaced single track roads and finishes in Lochmaddy.

The Race Dunvegan will take place in Dunvegan from Saturday 20 March 2027 to Monday 22 March 2027. You can run between 5 and 10 kilometers.
