The event is on Monday 10th November at the Old Castle Harvester, opposite Old Sarum in North Salisbury (Postcode SP1 3SF, Grid ref SU 141325, W3W: enter.replied.jots). Pre-entry is mandatory. Entry limit is 75 and 9 people were entered at the time of listing. Entry fees: Senior £7.00 (non-member supplement £2.00), Senior chip hire £1.50, Junior £3.00, Junior chip hire £1.50. Juniors are defined as under 21 on 31 December. Under 16 year olds must be accompanied by an adult.
Course, map and event rules
This is a one-hour Score event with 27 controls plus 3 Map Memory controls. Map scale is 1:5,000 on A3 waterproof paper with 5 m contours. Terrain is a typical urban area with an open nature park on a hill, mostly tracks and roads with some grassy areas. Control descriptions are not printed on the map but are available at the Start. Punch the Start and Finish controls and report to Download afterwards.
Scoring and equipment: penalties are minus 10 points for every minute or part minute over the hour. A bonus of 5 points is awarded for every complete minute under the hour only if all three Map Memory controls have been collected immediately after the specified 30-pointer controls. Controls use SIAC enabled units; non-SIAC SI hire is available. Competitors must wear hi-viz tops, carry sufficient lights with a spare, and a whistle is advisable. Dogs are not allowed on the urban course. Toilets are in the pub; limited first aid is available and no event water is provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
